Who was shukracharya?

Shukracharya was born on Friday, hence he was named Shukracharya. His father’s name was Rishi Bhrigu and mother’s name was Divya. Divya was the daughter of Hiran Kashyap. Shukracharya first name was ushna. He used to worship Shiva. He had two wifes, go and Jain. Shukracharya ji had also written Brihaspati shastara.

• Shukracharya received Amrit Sanjeevani Vidya from Lord Shiva. Later on he also became the guru of demons. Devguru Brihaspati had expelled Shukracharya from India.

• They was blessed with the boon that he could bring a person back to life if he died.
• Once there was a war between the gods and the demons. The gods would kill Demon at night and the same Demon would wake up in the morning and fight again.
• All the gods became worried And started wondering what to do now. Then one thing came to his mind that Surya Dev can solve this.

How did surya dev solve this problem-

• Everyone took refuge in the Sun God and begged them to save us. Surya Dev asked him what happened. Demons, those who die come alive in the morning And we want that those who die on Raksha night should be burnt there. Never will this body nor will we be alive in the morning.
• Surya Dev accepted their request and as the gods used to do, they killed the demons. then the sun god would burn them.
• It is written in Bhagwat Purana. Demon Guru Shukracharya ji was also called the one eyed Guru. Brihaspati and Shukracharya were disciples of Angiratha.

• They was very intelligent since childhood. He felt that guru Angirath ji was discriminating between Brihaspati and me Because Jupiter was his son.
• That left Angiratha Ashram and made Gautam Rishi his Guru. So from this Guru he received mrit Sanjeevani Vidya.
• After attaining knowledge, he went to Devlok and after reaching there he came to know that Brihaspati has been made the Guru of the Gods.
• Even Lord Indra insulted him and he got very angry. In a fit of anger, he became the master of demons. That’s why dead demons were brought back to life every day.
• There is another theory as to how he got the name Shukracharya-
• It was a long time ago that Kuber fought with Shukracharya. Then it defeated Kuber by deceit. Kubera’s throne also taken away.
• Kuber ji became very upset and he went to Mahadev crying. Told my whole situation to Mahadev.
• Mahadev got very angry and immediately went to Shukracharya ji.
• Mahadev raised his trident on Shukracharya so he made a small version of himself.

Now let us know what mahadev ji did next?

• So Mahadev picked up the small form of for them in his hand and took it out in his mouth.

• He wanted to come out of Mahadev’s mouth but failed. So he started doing penance in the stomach of Mahadev.
• Started living in the form of sperm in Mahadev’s stomach. So Shukracharya ji did so much penance that Mahadev became pleased with him.
• So Mahadev threw him out. He was named Shukracharya after the name of sperm.
• The last 10 years of Shukracharya’s life remained with his grandson but there is no mention of his death in any scripture.
• This still remains a mystery.
