Rishikesh is known as the yoga capital of India. It is located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Rishikash is considered the gateway to the Himalayas. The route to the four Dhams passes through here. Kedarnath, badrinath, gangotri, yamunotri. Aarti of Ganga ji is performed here in the morning and evening. This is the confluence of Triveni Ghat. Ganga, yamuna and saraswati. - Do you know how Rishikesh got its name? Rabheya Rishi who was a devotee of Lord Vishnu. He performed penance on the banks of Ganga in Rishikesh. Lord Vishnu was pleased with the radheya rishi penance and appeared before him.

Laxman Jhula-
- Laxman Jhula in Uttarakhand stands as a major center of faith and devotion. Seth Surajmal of Calcutta built this iconic suspension bridge in 1889 AD under the inspiration of Vasudhanand, making it an important spiritual and historical landmark. The British supervised its construction, ensuring quality and durability. Skilled workers crafted the swing using strong iron wires, making it sturdy and long-lasting.
- When there was a terrible flood in 1924, this bridge was washed away in water. The British rebuilt the swing. This swing is also a center of faith.
- According to legend, Lakshman Ji crossed the Ganga River using a rope made of jute. Visitors can see the sacred Ganga flowing beneath Lakshman Jhula, making it a popular spiritual attraction. Due to the increasing number of visitors, authorities constructed the Ram and Janaki Jhula to manage the crowd and ensure safety.

ram jhula-
- You already know about Lakshman Jhula, we are going to tell you about Ram Jhula. Ram Jhula is a famous landmark of Rishikesh. This bridge is relatively modern, as construction began in 1983 AD and was completed in 1986 AD. According to legend, Lord Ram passed through this place, adding great spiritual significance to the site.
- That’s why he was named Ram Jhula. The length of this swing is 750 feet long. It should be built on the banks of Ganga. The swing is made of iron wires.

janki jhula-
- Janaki Jhula is a relatively new bridge, with construction starting in 2013 and completing in November 2020. The bridge stretches approximately 272 meters in length, making it an important and modern addition to the region’s infrastructure and tourism.
- Its banks join the Swarga Ashram in the muni ki reti. This is the place of worship of saints and sages. If you go to Rishikesh then stay the night in Jaanki Jhula. Because the view of this swing is worth seeing at night.
- There is a painting of Hanuman ji which is the center of attraction.
- Authorities designed this bridge with three routes, including two lanes for vehicles and one separate path for pedestrians, ensuring smooth and safe travel for everyone.

swarag asram-
- Swarga Ashram is one of the oldest and largest in ashrams. This ashram is near Ram Jhula. It has a Lakshmi Narayan temple. Because it is 200 meters away from Ram temple.
- If you come to Rishikesh then stay at Swarg Ashram, there is bhajan kirtan in the temple which is a very good place for meditation.
- There are some rules of Swarga Ashram.
- If you want to stay in Swarga Ashram for a few days, then you will have to pay Rs 150 as room rant. If you want to buy a Chadar blanket, you will have to pay ₹ 10 separately.
- The specialty of this ashram is that the environment is very good.

Tirveni ghat-
- There are three aartis at this ghat. Parmarth Niketan Aarti, Triveni Ghat Aarti, Shatrughan Aarti.
- parmarth niketan aarti- It is a matter of good fortune for those visiting Rishikesh to see these artiya. This is near Ram Jhula. This aarti happens from 6:30 to 7:30. Here sages and saints can do yoga in peace.
- tirveni ghat- This is a very old pier. It is the meeting of three rivers Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati. But also the time of Aarti is from 6:30 to 7:30.
- Shatrughan Aarti- This is also a very special aarti of Rishikesh. Badri Narayan and Shatrughan did penance here. His temple is behind the ghat. These three artis’ timings are from 6:30 to 7:30.

neel kanth mandir-
- A temple which is 32 kilometers away from Rishikesh, Garhwal is a mountain in the Himalayas. It is over the valley of the Alaknanda River.
- During the Samudra Manthan, the deadly Halahal poison suddenly emerged from the ocean; however, this moment became a crucial turning point in Hindu mythology. Lord Shiva consumed the poison and held it in his throat to protect the universe.Mahadev made him do 6000 year penances at this very place to calm the fire.
- That’s why this temple was named Neelkanth Temple.

- There the time to visit is in the month of Shravan from July to August. the way to get there is quite easy. You can also go by your car. A taxi is available from Ram Jhula, the fare for which is ₹ 250.
- At Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, a sacred natural spring flows where devotees take a holy bath before proceeding to the temple for दर्शन (worship), making it an important spiritual ritual for visitors.
shiv puri-
- Shivpuri is 16 kilometers away from Rishikesh. A small path goes here. Shivpuri is the best place in Rishikesh.

Parmarth Niketan Ashram-
- Parmatma Niketan Ashram is called heaven on earth. It is situated in the lap of Himalayas on the banks of river Ganga. The form of the idol of Shiva in Ganga is very beautiful.
- It is 4 kilometers from the railway station, 2.5 kilometers from Ashram Market. There is a special arrangement to stay there.
- You talk about the airport, Dehradun is located at Jolly Grant Airport. As soon as you come out of the airport, you can take a taxi to reach Ram Temple but you will have to walk from parmath Niketan Ashram, this ashram is near Ram Jhula.
Jhilmil gufa-
- In ancient times, during the Samudra Manthan, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati performed intense penance for 60,000 years; therefore, this place holds deep spiritual significance and powerful positive energy. Moreover, an ancient pond lies nearby, and devotees still drink its sacred water as part of their religious practice.
- This cave is 30 kilometers away from Rishikesh. Seven sages had performed penance in this cave and Dhruva did penance here at the age of 5 and received the blessings of Mahadev.
- Guru Gorakhnath ji had perfected 66000 mantras in this cave.

Trimbakeshwar Temple-
- Trigambakeshwar temple is situated on the banks of river Ganga, its building is 13 Manzil.
- There is a different idol on every floor. This temple is built near Lakshman Jhula. This temple is so beautiful that every God and Goddess can be seen in it. Whenever you come to Rishikesh, definitely visit this temple.

Information to visit Rishikesh-
- If you want to go to Rishikesh then you can get a train to Rishikesh, if you do not get a direct train then you can get a train from Haridwar and Dehradun.
- Rishikesh is 30 kilometers away from Haridwar, from there you can also get an auto or bus. You will have to wait for 15-20 minutes at the bus stand and the bus fare will be 50 to 60 rupees.
- The distance from Dehradun to Rishikesh is 48 kilometers from where you will get a taxi. Taxi will cost you Rs 300 to Rs 350.
- If you come from Dehradun Airport then Jolly Grant Airport is situated, The distance from here to Rishikesh is 22 kilometers.
- The distance from Delhi to Rishikesh is 260 kilometers. If you come by your own car, you will get parking at Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, the fee for which will be ₹ 100.
- There you can easily find hotel, restaurant and Dharamshala also. You will also get a room there whose rent will be Rs 500 to Rs 700.
