Although Akshardham temples are built in many states of India, But we are going to talk about Akshardham Temple. Which is considered to be the biggest temple. This temple is located in Gandhinagar, Delhi. This temple is made of wood and stone. This stone was brought from Rajasthan, its carving is worth seeing. Its name is recorded in the Guinness Book. It is made up of 83,342 square feet. It has a Narayan Sarovar which has water from 151 ponds and there is a Lotus Garden which adds to the beauty of the temple. Every evening there is a musical fountain show in this temple which is worth seeing.
who was Lord Swami Narayan?
- Swami Narayan was also called Sahajanand. He was born on 3 April 1987 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. By the way, his name was Ghanshyam Pandey, he left home at the age of 11.
- He moved to Gujarat and took Ramanand Swami as his guru. After that she moved towards spirituality and Ramanand Swamiji made her the official of his uttra samudaya at the age of 21.
- After that he became famous by the name of Narayan Swami.

- Its first temple was built in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in 1822 AD. This temple is 10000 years old.

- Regarding building this temple, Yogi Ji Maharaj had thought that a temple should be built on the banks of Jamuna. So little by little the temple was running and in the meantime Yogi ji died.
- So even after this the work of the temple was not stopped, so Swami Maharaj ji, the main heir of Yogi ji, took this work in his hands. Because he wanted to fulfill his father’s dream.
- He searched for a place for the temple all over India but he liked a place on the banks of river Yamuna. The President of India at that time was Dr. Abdul Kalam. He started the work of this temple on 8 November 2000.
- Many artisans and groups of sadhus came to take part in this work. Many people came and with the permission of the government, they completed the work of this temple.
- It took 5 years to build this temple and Dr. Abdul Kalam opened this temple for the people on 8 November 2005.
